THE LATE GREAT RIDING MASTER JOAO OLIVIERA SAID "THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO WORK WITH THE BEST TRAINED HORSES TO LEARN TO FEEL THE MOVEMENTS IN A VERY NATURAL WAY, IT IS FEELING BEfORE  ANYTHING ELSE" HE ADDED " YOU DEVELOP TECHNIQUE THROUGH THE YEARS . YOU MUST LEARN THAT, BUT ITS ALL ABOUT THE FEELING "

We offer training on our superb high school trained school master Lusitano stallions.  We offer an academic systematic course taking one from the basics to advanced high school levels.  Many speak of lightness and harmony.  Here you will actually see and experience horses who can correctly Piaffe and Passage completely on a slack rein and you will learn how to ride and train your horse in the manner of the old masters as I was taught by one of the greatest living masters of classical horsemanship, Master Luis Valencia of Portugal.

We charge $75.00 per hour and offer classes in a relaxed atmosphere, with calming music as a background for the harmony we are always striving for.  We don't yell or harass our students and you will be taught in a calm manner.  We are non competitive and don't require our students to ever show, although they may if they choose to.

The academy presents diplomas in a variety of areas upon satisfactory study and examination, including jaw flexions, work in hand, artistic lunging, long reining, low school and high school areas.  Out of town students may come and receive a three day intensive immersion course giving the basics on a variety of classical methods from starting the young horse to advanced work.  Students in immersion courses also receive completion course diplomas.  Three day immersion courses run $1,000.00 and are intensive, academic and practical riding more than one horse.  Call (951) 738-1433 to book lessons or courses.

Gaited Horse Training

Baroque Equitation would like to add the following service for gaited horse lovers in general and Paso Fino enthusiasts specifically.  I am offering classical lessons on my Paso Fino School Master who does shoulder in, half pass, spanish walk forwards and backwards, Piaffe and Passage in four beat, full collection to extension  etc.  If you want to learn the baroque way of riding a Paso Fino in the classical sense on a school master we can help you.  Lessons as the others are $75.00 per hour on my horse.  You can also see here one of the largest pure Paso Finos in the world.  Legolas, a pure Puerto rican Paso Fino who is four years old and approaching 16 hands.  I am fully training him in the classical ways and to the amazement of all, he is now a tight fino who can be ridden on the lightest of touches and will be featured in my up coming DVD "The Baroque Training of the Paso Fino Horse"  Learn to ride the Paso Fino without a hollow back and pulled in head and a horse who fully gaits to his maximum potential on light reins.  Limited space offered!!

Testimony

HI Bill,

Here is a picture of my Tenessee Walker--he has changed SO much since being worked the classical way. The owner has a picture of him before and after and it does not look like the same horse. Before he had a pointed butt and his spine stuck up--like his back was a rooftop. His neck was completely upside down with a huge underside and puny topline. Now he is totally muscled up and soft and round. We are working on his piaffe. I've also taught him to gait with very short, energetic steps, like Legolas. What a difference it's made to his balance.
